Guwor Applauds Unveiling of ‘200 Most Outstanding Deltans’ Compendium

The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, has praised the launch of the second edition of the 200 Most Outstanding Deltans Compendium, calling it a meaningful celebration of excellence and a lasting source of inspiration for future generations.

The event, held in Asaba, gathered distinguished sons and daughters of the state and featured goodwill messages that underscored the value of honoring Delta’s most outstanding achievers.

Speaking on his behalf, the Speaker’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Nkem Nwaeke, praised the compilers and organizers of the project for highlighting remarkable individuals whose efforts have helped promote unity, progress, and development across the state.

The Speaker also congratulated the honourees, saying their accomplishments are a testament to what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, and passion. He reaffirmed the Delta State House of Assembly’s commitment to supporting initiatives that celebrate excellence, preserve the state’s heritage, and empower its people.

Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of the compendium project, Air Vice Marshal Frank O. Ajobena (Rtd), who was represented by his son, Flight Lieutenant Terry Ajobena (Rtd), praised the honourees for their outstanding achievements across a wide range of areas, including academia, politics, business, sports, and the arts.

While congratulating the 200 honourees, he stressed that real greatness isn’t just about personal achievements but also about the positive difference those achievements make in communities.

He urged both the government and citizens to collaborate in creating a supportive environment where talents can flourish for the benefit of everyone. He also encouraged making the compendium accessible in schools, libraries, and homes to motivate and inspire the next generation.

Both leaders emphasized the importance of Deltans finding inspiration in the stories of achievement highlighted in the compendium and encouraged everyone to recommit to building a stronger, united, and forward-moving state.

The event concluded with applause for the organizers and honourees, along with a collective commitment to ensuring that the stories of the 200 Most Outstanding Deltans continue to inspire for years ahead.
