The Director-General of the Delta State Capital Territory Development Agency, Hon. Patrick Ukah, on Monday conducted an unscheduled on-the-spot inspection of several capital projects being executed by the agency across Asaba and Okpanam.
The surprise inspection took Ukah and his team through project sites in Oshimili South and Oshimili North Local Government Areas, where remarkable progress was recorded, with six major road and flood control projects either fully completed or nearing completion.
Among the projects inspected were the construction of Princess Pat Ajudua Crescent with a 110-metre spur to New General Hospital Road, GRA Phase V; Ambassador Leo Okogwu Road from Nwuegbuzie Street Junction to Osukoza Street in Zappa, including adjoining streets; Martins Nwanze Street and overlay of Oweazin Kenaz Crescent in Okpanam; Aloy Isowede/Pastor Agbaegbu D. Street; and Cletus Okolie Achi Way/Marble Hill School Road with spur to Holy Family Catholic Church Road, all in Oshimili North and South LGAs – all 100 per cent completed.
The only ongoing project, the construction of flood control measures and discharge drain at Ogbeilo/Ugbomanta Streets through Ogbeogonogo Market to Utuogwu Bay, Asaba, has reached 60 per cent completion.
Speaking after the inspection, Hon. Patrick Ukah expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, noting that the projects are in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration’s commitment to durable infrastructure in the state capital territory.
“Very soon, these roads will be fully open for use, bringing ease, connectivity and comfort to our people,” he assured residents.
Ukah commended the contractors for adhering to specifications and urged continued diligence on ongoing works.
