Hoodlums have reportedly disrupted and as well chased peaceful protesters from the venue of the ongoing nationwide protest at Effurun Roundabout in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State.

The hoodlums alleged to be community youths and their leaders from Uvwie, chased the peaceful protesters with sticks, broken bottles and other dangerous weapons as armed security operatives watched without forestalling any breakdown of law and order.

Comedian Ericardo posted a video on his official X account reporting the unfolding situation with the caption: Uvwie community youths and their leaders are chasing away protesters from Effurun Roundabout.
The Nigerian military are just watching while these unarmed persons are being attacked and molested. Sad 💔💔💔EndBadGovernance #Protest

The peaceful protesters had come out late for the protest, bearing placards with inscriptions such as “Too Much Hunger, Mr. President, Reduce Fuel Price,” “End Bad Governance in Nigeria,” “Reverse Subsidy Policy, Reform Nigeria,” and “Emilokan, It is Your Turn to Suffer Us, Mr. President.”

They were going about peacefully, chanting solidarity songs, when the counter-protesters, mainly hoodlums, appeared and chased them.
