The Council of Chiefs of Idjerhe Central Oguedion in Idjerhe Kingdom, Ethiope West Local Government Area of Delta State, has unanimously endorsed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for a second term in office. The endorsement was made during a press conference held at the Oguedion in Jesse Town, the traditional headquarters of the kingdom.
The chiefs, representing the two ruling houses of Udurhie and Uduaka, passed a vote of explicit confidence on both Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu, citing what they described as their remarkable developmental achievements since assuming office.
Speaking at the event, the Unuevworo of Idjerhe Central Oguedion, Chief Solomon Ojariafe, praised Governor Oborevwori for appointing indigenes of Idjerhe Kingdom into strategic positions. Among them are Honourable John Nani, Chairman of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), and Honourable Blessing Achoja, member representing Ethiope West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly.
The chiefs expressed satisfaction with the governor’s leadership style and his commitment to infrastructure and human capital development across the state. T
hey, however, appealed to him to address some pressing needs in Idjerhe Kingdom, particularly the improvement of electricity supply through the electrification of communities, and the construction and rehabilitation of critical roads such as Ukuedejor Road and College Road, which link Jesse Main Market to Ugbomoja Waterside Junction.

On the alleged suspension of some chiefs of Idjerhe Central Oguedion, the council described the move as null and void, insisting that the process was unconstitutional, lacked merit, and should be disregarded by the public.
Honourable Blessing Achoja, who attended the press conference, commended the unity of the chiefs and their support for Governor Oborevwori’s administration. He also emphasised the governor’s commitment to the development of Idjerhe and advised the traditional leaders to maintain a clear distinction between politics and traditional authority for effective governance.
Achoja further announced the donation of a 500KVA transformer by Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, member representing Ethiope Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, to address electricity challenges in the area.
The event, which was attended by over sixty chiefs, reaffirmed Idjerhe Kingdom’s peaceful and united stance, with the traditional council stressing that peace remains the foundation for sustainable progress in line with the values upheld by both Governor Oborevwori and the Oguedion.
