IGP declares public relations officers’ conference open in Asaba

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, officially declared open a four-day Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) Conference in Asaba, Delta State, on Monday, November 18, 2024.

The IGP while declaring the Conference open at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, Delta State urged members of the public to desist from sharing old videos and photos on social media with the aim of damaging the image of the police.

Meanwhile, the governor of Delta State, Rt Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori in his remarks commended the Nigeria Police Force, stressing that 99 percent of Police officers are highly professional in the discharge of their responsibility.

This is as the Force Public Relations Officer, FPRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi thanked the IGP for approving the conference.

He also thanked the governor for hosting and supporting the conference.

The conference with the theme, “Strengthening Nigeria Police Force Oversight and Accountability Mechanism” will last for days.

The IGP also joined Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to commission 31 operational vehicles.

The IGP also visited the Command where he commissioned the new officers mess.

The IG also had an interactive section with officers and men of the Delta State Police Command.

There after, he visited the palace of HRM Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge SAN, OON, FNAILS, KSG.
