Inter-Agency Synergy: Kogi Oil Commission Visits DESOPADEC for Operational Study

The Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, on Thursday, November 27, 2025, hosted a delegate from the Kogi State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (KOSOPADEC) at the Commission’s headquarters.

Dr. Okorodudu, speaking on behalf of the Board, welcomed the visiting team and commended KOSOPADEC for taking the initiative to learn from other oil-producing commissions.

“On behalf of the Board, Management, and staff of DESOPADEC, I warmly welcome you,” he said. “Any individual or organization that seeks knowledge from others already demonstrates a vision that leads to growth. I applaud KOSOPADEC for reaching out—no one has a monopoly on knowledge. DESOPADEC stands out because of its strong institutional structure. Since its establishment in 2007, our mandate has extended to 21 of Delta State’s 25 local government areas, guided by the principle of quantum distribution. When you return with the full team, we will provide a detailed breakdown of our operations. We look forward to hosting you again.”

Dr. Okorodudu also provided a brief overview of the operations under his Directorate, explaining the functions of various departments and how the Commission executes its projects. He assured the visitors that DESOPADEC would be ready to receive the full KOSOPADEC delegation in two weeks.

Earlier, the visiting representative, Dr. Engr. Usman Nda Mohammed, Executive Director of Social Services at KOSOPADEC, explained that the visit followed an earlier request for a courtesy meeting aimed at studying DESOPADEC’s operational system to strengthen KOSOPADEC’s own processes. He thanked Dr. Okorodudu for the warm reception and for agreeing to host the full team during their upcoming visit.

Also present at the meeting were Engr. Elliot Olokor, Head of Projects Monitoring and Evaluation; QS Oyimi Williams, Head of Housing; Mr. Festus Ifovwodo, Head of Utilities; Prince Gavin Ugbome, DESOPADEC’s Chief Security Officer; and Engr. Tony Okuwe, Executive Assistant to the Executive Director of Projects.
