Inter Miami Beat Porto to Claim First Club World Cup Win

After a scoreless draw in their first match of the Club World Cup against Egyptian club Al Ahly, Inter Miami claimed their inaugural victory by beating FC Porto.

Miami fell behind when Samu Aghehowa converted an early penalty for the Portuguese team during the first half.

Nevertheless, winger Telasco Segovia equalized, sparking renewed optimism before Lionel Messi scored a brilliant free kick less than 10 minutes into the second half.

The match concluded with a score of 2-1 in favor of Miami, who now have four points in the Club World Cup standings. They are scheduled to play Palmeiras next.

With each team having a win and a draw, a tie would suffice for both to advance to the knockout rounds.

Atletico Madrid rebounded from their 4-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in their opening match by defeating Seattle Sounders 3-1 at Lumen Field.

Diego Simeone’s squad is now set to face Botafogo in another critical match that will decide who moves on to the next stage.

Botafogo achieved a surprising win over Champions League titleholders PSG, securing a 1-0 victory with a late first-half goal from Igor Jesus.

The South American champions withstood a tense second half, preserving their perfect record and climbing to the top of the group with two wins out of two.

PSG displayed little of the fluid, dynamic style that has characterized their recent performances, but Luis Enrique’s team remains well-positioned to qualify as they prepare to face MLS team Seattle Sounders in their final group match.
