The initiative began in Asaba, the state capital.

He added that the collaboration also seeks to strengthen coordination among relevant agencies to improve monitoring and enforcement on highways, especially in areas prone to frequent heavy-duty vehicle accidents.
The exercise, described as a “show of force,” brought together representatives from various security and transport regulatory agencies to showcase unity and commitment to achieving zero tolerance for road accidents in Nigeria.
The Delta State Chapter of the Joint National Transport Safety Committee reiterated its readiness to collaborate with federal and state stakeholders to create a safer and more efficient transport environment, emphasizing that road safety is a shared responsibility for all users.
Speakers at the event included the Regional Head of Enforcement and Compliance, Comrade Samuel Archibong; Head of Operations, Chief Emmanuel Adigwe; as well as representatives from the State Directorate of Transport and the Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment. They noted that the initiative is part of a nationwide campaign by the Joint National Transport Safety Committee to reduce accidents, protect lives, and ensure sustainable transport operations in Nigeria, promising full support to the committee.
In collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the committee conducted awareness and sensitisation activities for truck drivers and operators at various parks, covering areas from Head Bridge to Umunede.
