Lawmaker Rallies Support for Governor Oborevwori

The Delta State lawmaker representing Isoko South II, Hon. (Dr.) Ferguson Onwo, has urged the Isoko people to continue supporting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration, describing it as people-focused and committed to the welfare of all Deltans.

‎Hon. Onwo made the call during the 2025 Conference of the Isoko Development Union (IDU) at the Isoko Unity House in Oleh, where he also presented a scorecard of his legislative and developmental achievements over two and a half years in the Delta State House of Assembly.

‎Speaking to members of the apex body of the Isoko nation, Onwo stressed the importance of peace, unity, and harmonious coexistence, noting that peace is a key pillar of Governor Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda and essential for sustainable development.

‎The lawmaker highlighted numerous constituency projects, including the rehabilitation of water supply schemes, installation of solar-powered streetlights, and construction and furnishing of classrooms across communities such as Erohwa, Umeh, Igbide, Aviara, Olomoro, and Uzere.

‎He also cited major road projects, including Umeh Bridge, Umeh and Igbide roads, as well as the Uzere–Asaba Ase and Uzere–Patani roads, aimed at boosting connectivity and local economic activities.

‎In the health sector, Onwo, Chairman of the House Committee on Health, reported the renovation of health centres and employment of 26 nurses and seven doctors to improve healthcare delivery.

‎Onwo reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation and called on the Isoko people to remain united in supporting Governor Oborevwori’s administration, emphasizing that collaboration and peace will accelerate development across Isoko communities and Delta State.

‎He was later inaugurated as a member of the Isoko Political Strategic Action Committee (IPSAC), alongside other notable sons and daughters of the Isoko nation.
