A leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Warri Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, Chief Promise Lawuru, has stepped up his grassroots consultations in a bid to build support for his ambition.
During a meeting with members of the Warri Urhobo APC family in Warri, Delta State, Lawuru officially declared his intention to run for the seat, noting that his campaign is focused on service, unity, and restoring Warri’s voice on the national stage.
The gathering took place at the residence of Olorogun Bernard Okumagba and drew party leaders and key stakeholders from across the constituency.
He told attendees that the Warri Federal Constituency made up of Itsekiri, Urhobo, and Ijaw ethnic groups needs a representative who values fairness and understands the importance of balance among the different communities. According to him, true representation must cater to the interests of all groups within the constituency.
Lawuru also highlighted his background as an advantage, explaining that his roots span both Itsekiri and Urhobo heritage. He said this positions him to bridge ethnic divides and promote stronger unity among the people.
He called on party members to back his candidacy during the APC selection process, expressing optimism that unity among the ethnic groups in the constituency would boost its political relevance and drive development in the area.
