It was a morning filled with energy, prayers, and purpose as the First Lady of Delta State and founder of the You Matter Charity Foundation, Her Excellency Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, led women and supporters in a fitness event themed *“You Matter Walk for Life.”*
The vibrant walk took place on Saturday, October 18, 2025, starting from the Inter-Bau Roundabout in the state capital. Participants walked along the Anwai–Illah Road, ending the journey at the First Lady’s Office in the New Government House, Asaba.
The walk, which aimed for each participant to hit 10,000 steps, included aerobic sessions, uplifting praise songs, and moments of prayer along the way.
In her remarks, Deaconess Oborevwori explained that the initiative was designed to encourage healthy living, strengthen spiritual growth, and foster stronger social connections among women and families throughout Delta State.
She described the *You Matter Walk for Life* as more than just a fitness challenge—calling it a purposeful movement focused on achieving 10,000 steps together for better health and positive change.
Referencing 1 Timothy 4:8, the Governor’s wife urged participants to blend physical exercise with prayer to achieve “total transformation,” highlighting that true wellness—covering the body, mind, and spirit—is essential for living a meaningful life.
She praised the women for showing up in large numbers, calling it a clear sign of their unity, energy, and willingness to support each other as well as the state’s development goals.
She also expressed gratitude to the Federal Road Safety Corps, the fitness coaches, and the government house chaplain for their excellent coordination, safety oversight, and spiritual support throughout the event.
Her Excellency assured everyone that the *You Matter Walk for Life* is just the beginning, promising an even larger event in the near future.
In a brief address, Venerable Charles Osemene, Chaplain of the Government House Chapel, encouraged participants to practice humility, unity, and dedicated service to both God and humanity.
Speaking on behalf of the women, Mrs. Timiebi Guwor, wife of the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, expressed gratitude to the Governor’s wife for her “motherly love, inspiration, and genuine care for the well-being of women in Delta State.”
She prayed that Deaconess Oborevwori would be blessed with divine strength and grace to carry on her charitable efforts and support her husband, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, in driving the state’s development goals forward.
The event ended with prayers for peace, good health, and continued progress in Delta State, as the joyful women cheered and celebrated the success of the very first *You Matter Walk for Life.*
