Madrid Was Always the Goal: Trent’s Dream Transfer Complete

Former Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold disclosed at his formal introduction as a Real Madrid player on Thursday that he chose the Spanish club because it has always been his dream destination.

The 26-year-old mentioned that there was never any doubt about where he would move—it has always been Madrid.

The England international, who surprised many attendees by speaking fluent Spanish at the event, pointed out that he realized for quite some time that Madrid would be the sole club he would consider leaving Liverpool for.

Renowned for his precise long passes during his time in the Premier League, Trent referred to signing with Madrid as a fulfillment of a lifelong aspiration, emphasizing that chances like this are rare.

“Liverpool helped me fulfill all my aspirations. I will forever be grateful. I spent two decades there and cherished every moment. I believed it was the appropriate time to make a move. I grew up watching this club win three consecutive Champions Leagues.” “I’m incredibly eager.

I’ve been looking forward to this day for quite a while. It’s a dream realized, but much hard work lies ahead. I recall David Beckham playing here; it was remarkable.

I witnessed Cristiano and how he was embraced. He was the world’s best player at that time. It left a lasting impression on me,” Trent remarked. He expressed gratitude for having represented the largest club in England and now the largest club in Spain.

“Both have thrived and secured their leagues. It’s a privilege to represent them. They share many similarities. My jersey simply saying ‘Trent’? It’s an easy explanation; the three-name situation can be quite confusing. People call me Arnold, Alex, and Trent. I thought it would be easier to keep it simple. Just Trent.”

Trent, who has signed a six-year deal with the Spanish team, described his farewell from Liverpool as the ideal send-off. He also mentioned that the club’s owners reassured him that he would always be welcome to come back whenever he desired.

Liverpool consented to let him join Madrid early in a transfer worth £10 million, setting the stage for his debut next Wednesday at the Club World Cup in the United States, where Alonso’s team will face Al Hilal in their first group match.
