Morning Fire Guts Shop in Afiesere Community

A fire incident occurred in Afiesere Community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, on the morning of Wednesday, destroying a shop and partially damaging a nearby building before it was brought under control by local residents.

Eyewitnesses said the blaze broke out suddenly, sending thick smoke and flames into the air and briefly engulfing zinc-roofed structures in the area.

The fire drew a crowd as it spread momentarily, raising fears of further damage before residents swiftly intervened.

With no immediate response from firefighting services, community members reportedly used buckets of water and other improvised means to battle the flames until the fire was successfully extinguished.

No casualties were recorded in the incident. As of the time of filing this report, the cause of the fire remains unknown, while affected residents are counting their losses.
