Morris Monye appointed Chairman, Delta State Esports association

A foremost Nigerian social commentator, and community leader, Morris Monye has been appointed as Chairman, of Delta State Esports Association.

Monye’s appointment was announced by the President of the Nigerian Esports Association, Mr Yahaha Maikori on Saturday, January 6th, 2024.

In a statement, Morris Monye noted that Esports has the potential to empower and engage the teeming youths of Delta State.

He said, “I have the utmost belief that together we will take the message of Esports to the deepest parts of the state, engage and empower young people and ultimately make Nigeria a global power in Esports.”

Monye “Vows to engage youths and use this to pull youths from poverty”.

Until his appointment, Morris Monye was an astute businessman, and community leader and served as a political adviser to the Governorship candidate of the party in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour.

With the appointment of Monye, Esports, which is believed to be a billion dollar industry, might be a rallying point for economic rebound in the state as the Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, is looking to diversify the economy of Delta state.
