Motorists in Ughelli send SOS on deplorable road

Some motorists and other road users in Ughelli North and South Local Government Area of Delta State have sent a Save Our Soul (SOS) message to Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori over the deplorable state of Isodje street junction in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

They appealled to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to help in rehabilitating the road that connects Ughelli North and South before the rains.

It would be recalled that the Ughelli North Local Government Council Chairman, Olorogun Jaro Egbo led the Council engineers to access Isodje street junction immediately he assumed office but till date nothing has been done to ameliorate the state of the road.

Speaking to journalists, a motorist who identified himself as Okpako Joseph said, “I want to appreciate the state governor for personally embarking on projects monitoring across the state for ensuring quality jobs.

“The state of Isodje street junction that leads to Ughelli South in nothing to write home about and we are calling on the state governor to mandate the state Ministry of Works to rehabilitate the place before the rain will come.

“Our vehicles are in bad state because of the condition of the road that needs urgent attention, hence we are calling on the state government to help us.”

A motorcycle rider, Ochuko Eleke appealed to the state government and the local government council chairman to help in putting the road in order.

“We are suffering in that section of the road and they should consider us to repair that portion and I know our working governor will give us a listening ear.”
