Delta State University, Abraka (DELSU) has confirmed the receipt of a ₦213,218,275.00 student loan disbursement from the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), benefiting 1,519 students across the institution.
The disclosure was made in an official acknowledgement signed by the Registrar, Mrs. R.U. Ufiofio, who praised the intervention as a significant relief for students and their families. She noted that the loan facility will ease financial burdens, allowing beneficiaries to concentrate on their studies without the distraction of financial constraints.
“This intervention will significantly alleviate the financial burden on our students and their families, enabling them to focus on their academic pursuits. We commend NELFUND for its commitment to advancing accessible education in Nigeria,” Ufiofio stated.
In a separate announcement tagged “Disbursement Announcement,” NELFUND reiterated its mission to empower young Nigerians through targeted funding.
“We are pleased to announce the disbursement of ₦213,218,275.00 to 1,519 beneficiaries at Delta State University. This disbursement underscores our continued commitment to supporting educational institutions and empowering individuals through targeted funding,” the Fund stated via its official communication channels.
The loan programme, initially created to cushion the economic impact of COVID-19, has evolved into a broader platform to promote inclusion, social welfare, and human capital development nationwide. By expanding access to credit facilities for students, NELFUND aims to bridge financial gaps in education and foster academic excellence.
Delta State University expressed appreciation to NELFUND and assured of sustained collaboration to ensure students derive maximum benefit from the scheme.
