NELFUND Disburses ₦392m to Delta State University Students

Delta State University has confirmed the receipt of ₦392,876,550 from the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as part of its student loan disbursement scheme.

NELFUND made this known in a post on X on Sunday, stating that 1,854 students of the university have so far benefitted from the fund. The agency explained that the financial support is aimed at easing the burden on students and helping them focus more effectively on their academic pursuits.

The university has expressed appreciation to NELFUND for its continued commitment to expanding access to education across Nigeria.

In a formal letter addressed to the fund, the Registrar of the institution, Mrs. Rufina Ufiofio, acknowledged the payment on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Samuel O. Asagba. She confirmed that the money was received on January 13, 2026.

According to her, the intervention will go a long way in reducing the financial strain faced by the affected students, enabling them to concentrate better on their studies.

She added that the university values the partnership and looks forward to sustained collaboration aimed at strengthening educational development in the country.
