The Nigeria Football Federation has launched a media initiative called Mission X, aimed at mobilizing and invigorating football fans in Nigeria and the diaspora to unite in support of the Super Falcons as they strive for a 10th Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco next month.
Having claimed nine championships out of the 12 tournaments since the Confederation of African Football established the competition in 1998, Africa’s most successful women’s national team is heading to Morocco with the focused intention of achieving a momentous 10th title.

“We are committed to offering comprehensive support for the Super Falcons’ quest for a 10th continental championship, which is why we are rolling out the Mission X campaign to raise awareness among football-loving Nigerians, both locally and abroad, regardless of age, status, or gender, urging them to come out and back the team.
“The Super Falcons remain the most decorated national team in African football. We take pride in their achievements and their ambitions in Morocco,” stated NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, from the United States on Tuesday.
Sanusi went on to express: “We wish for the Super Falcons to feel the excitement of our devoted football supporters wherever they go, from Abuja to Casablanca, where they will play their group stage matches, and at any location for their knockout games in Morocco.”
The Super Falcons also secured the only ticket granted to Africa for the FIFA Women’s World Cup finals in 1991 (China) and 1995 (Sweden), although there was no tournament-format Africa Cup of Nations competition during those years.
