The morning programme opens with the women’s 5,000m final and the men’s shot put final. It follows with 100m heats for men and women and several field events. Finals in the 400m, 1,500m, hurdles, jumps and throws will close the morning session.

The afternoon session features finals in javelin, discus, long jump, 200m, 800m and high jump. The men’s 5,000m final will close the day’s programme at 6:00 p.m.

Previous trial days recorded strong fan turnout. Organisers expect even larger crowds as communities come out to cheer athletes competing for selection. Coaches say the trials will help finalise squads before camps open.

The 2nd Niger Delta Games are sponsored by the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and organised by Dunamis‑Icon Limited. The finals will run in Benin City, Edo State, from February 20 to 27. All nine Niger Delta states are expected to participate.
