Nigerian Striker John Ejoor Ignites Austrian Fourth Division

Nigerian striker John Ejoor has become the undisputed sensation of the Austrian Kärntner Liga, establishing himself as one of the continent’s most explosive goalscorers in the fourth tier.

Since joining ATSV Wolfsberg in the summer of 2025, the 24-year-old has been relentless, powering his club to the summit of the table and setting his sights firmly on automatic promotion.

Ejoor’s return this season has been nothing short of phenomenal: 13 goals and 2 assists delivered in just 12 league appearances. His scoring streak is absolute—he has netted in every single home game and, crucially, all his goals have resulted from open play, underscoring his predatory instincts inside the box.

The striker’s productivity has translated directly into league success. Thanks to Ejoor’s direct involvement in 15 of their total goals, ATSV Wolfsberg currently sits atop the 16-team Kärntner Liga with 35 points from 16 matches, holding a two-point advantage over rivals Volkermarkt.

“Moving Up The Ladder” is the Only Goal

Ejoor confirmed his singular focus remains on delivering silverware and upward mobility for his current club.

“My ambition is to get promoted with ATSV Wolfsberg to the next level, the regional league in Austria. It’s going to be a delight to move up the ladder with the club ,He also acknowledged the adoration of the local support base, stating, “I see I have become the favourite among the fans and I love it as well.”

The impact of the Nigerian import has been so profound that Wolfsberg supporters have already bestowed upon him the moniker, “The Nigerian Nightmare,” a clear nod to the defensive chaos he consistently creates.

With the league structure dictating that only the top team secures promotion to the Regional League at the close of the season, the pressure remains intense. ATSV Wolfsberg boasts an impressive offensive record—44 goals scored against just 17 conceded—but the margin for error is zero.

While Ejoor has delivered individual brilliance, the challenge now lies in maintaining this extraordinary pace through the remainder of the campaign. For now, John Ejoor stands as the key catalyst in Wolfsberg’s historic bid to climb the Austrian football pyramid.
