NNPC Foundation Partners with YES-FEST 2025 to Equip FCT Students with Renewable Energy

The 2025 Youth Energy STEAM Festival (YES‑FEST), supported by the NNPC Foundation in partnership with the Oloibiri Oil & Gas Entrepreneurship Development Initiative, brought together secondary school students from across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to promote science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM) education as a pathway to Nigeria’s energy transition.

Organisers said the one‑day festival, held under the theme “Fueling Future Energies Through Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) Education,” aimed to inspire and equip young Nigerians with the technical skills, creative problem‑solving abilities and entrepreneurial mindset needed to support a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

Key details
– Participants: Secondary school students from across the FCT attended interactive sessions, demonstrations and hands‑on workshops introducing renewable energy concepts, basic engineering principles and innovation methodologies.
– Partners: The event was supported by the NNPC Foundation and delivered in collaboration with the Oloibiri Oil & Gas Entrepreneurship Development Initiative, reflecting a public‑private approach to youth capacity building in the energy sector.
– Objectives: YES‑FEST focused on building a talent pipeline for the energy industry, fostering interest in renewables and technology, and encouraging local entrepreneurship linked to energy solutions.
– Activities: Students took part in practical demonstrations, team challenges and mentorship sessions designed to translate classroom learning into energy‑sector applications.

NNPC Foundation reiterated its commitment to youth empowerment and renewable energy advocacy, stressing that achieving a clean and inclusive energy future will require collaboration, innovation and sustained investment in education.
