Former Delta State Commissioner for Lands and Survey and a prominent chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olorogun Fred Okiemute Majemite, has advised politicians eyeing the Delta State Government House in 2027 to reconsider their ambitions, insisting that there is no vacancy until 2031.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting of the PDP, Ughelli Ward 1/5, held at his residence in Ughelli, Majemite reaffirmed the PDP’s dominance in Delta politics.
He maintained that the party remains unshakable, declaring: “There is no vacancy in Dennis Osadebey House until 2031. PDP is Delta State, and Delta State is PDP.”
He specifically urged politicians from the PDP, the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Labour Party (LP), and other parties to focus on supporting the incumbent governor instead of chasing shadows.
Majemite praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s leadership, describing his administration’s achievements as remarkable.
He commended the governor for revitalizing the state’s economy, attracting business investments, and enhancing Delta’s reputation both locally and internationally.
“When we look at the scorecard of Governor Oborevwori, what readily comes to mind is how he has performed. His administration’s impact is felt across the three senatorial districts.
“The Governor has relentlessly pursued policies aimed at providing social amenities and infrastructure,” he stated.
Addressing recent speculations about Governor Oborevwori’s alleged defection to the APC, Majemite dismissed them as baseless and unfounded.
He urged Deltans to continue supporting the governor in actualizing his M.O.R.E. Agenda for the state. On his own senatorial ambition, Majemite emphasized that his primary focus is securing a second term for Governor Oborevwori.
He assured supporters that at the appropriate time, he would make his political aspirations known to the people of Delta State.
