Many expressed appreciation for the efforts of past and current political leaders in upholding and promoting democratic values, cultures, and policies through the enhancement of democratic institutions, while others criticized the hardships in the country, attributing them to stringent economic reforms.

They urged both the federal and state governments to focus on ensuring the safety of Nigerians by reinforcing the nation’s security framework.

In Delta State, there are no planned activities to commemorate Democracy Day, as many residents stay indoors while security personnel conduct patrols and surveillance to prevent any breakdown of law and order.
