National Orientation Agency (NOA), Delta State has held a road walk sensitization in Asaba to round off its weeklong of activities including national press conference, advocacy visit, townhall meeting, and media engagement on five thematic areas.
The road walk which featured talks and distribution of fliers, commenced at the Federal Secretariat Asaba, along Nnebisi Road, and terminates at the Federal Medical Centre, Asaba, with stop overs at various major points.
NOA team led by the representative of Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Director General of the agency, Mrs Tracy Ikolomi, Delta State Director, sensitized residents, passersby, Keke riders and motorists on flood mitigation, national enlightenment campaign on government policies, sensitization campaign against sign-out extremes in schools, national campaign on Nigerian identity project and national symbols, and security awareness sensitization campaign: achieving improved security consciousness in our community.
There was orderliness during the rally as men of the Federal Road Safety Corps who were part of the rally ensured that traffic was not disrupted, while corps members in their number, spiced up the road walk with music of national unity, as well as the recitation of the national anthem.
Ikolomi, along with other management team stated,”We are on a road walk on various national issues including the campaign on flood mitigation. During raining season, we experience flood in many places. We need to do our part by not blocking water channels; by not dumping waste inside drains, gutters. We are appealing to you to be environmental friendly”

”Also, we are here to let you know that government has a lot of good policies and programmes for the betterment of all Nigerians. Let’s embrace these policies by registering with the relevant federal government establishments for interventions”

”We are also sensizing you against extreme signout practices in our schools which leave much to be desired. These are not our traditions. We are urging our parents, schools administrators and other stakeholders to ensure that our children behave well”
”We are also reminding you to be security conscious in our environment. When you see something; you say something. Security is everybody business. It is not only the business of security agencies. We must be at alert at all time. We are here to ensure that our communities are safe, and our neighbourhoods are safe”
” So, this is the message we brought to you from the Delta State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency . We are telling you to keep hope alive; Nigeria will be great again”, Ikolomi stated.
