Kwara United players have been given a 10-day break by the club’s management after their victory in the President’s Federation Cup final against Abakaliki FC.
Kwara United secured their first national trophy at the grand finale of this year’s President’s Federation Cup held in Lagos on Saturday.
The team is scheduled to resume full preparations for the NPFL 2025/26 season and their CAF Confederation Cup campaign on Thursday, July 11.
The Harmony Boys triumphed over Abakaliki FC 4-3 in penalties during the final at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos, last Saturday.

Kwara United stood resilient against the ‘giant-killers’ Abakaliki FC from Ebonyi State and ultimately won 4-3 after a penalty shootout, following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Both teams fought to a 0-0 stalemate during regulation time.
The players and their officials are anticipated to return to camp on Thursday, July 11, to commence preparations for the upcoming season.
Kwara United will initiate their campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup in September.
The 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, season is set to commence on Friday, August 22.
