NRC: Agbor Train Derailment Tied to Vandalism, Passengers Safe

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has reported a train derailment at Agbor on the Warri-Itakpe rail line on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

In a statement, NRC Managing Director Kayode Opeifa said preliminary investigations indicate that suspected track vandalism could be the cause, and a thorough investigation is ongoing to determine the exact reason.

All passengers on board were safely evacuated, and thankfully, no injuries or casualties have been reported.

The NRC has announced a temporary halt of train services along the corridor to allow for a thorough investigation.

The corporation apologized for any inconvenience and reassured Nigerians of its commitment to providing improved services.

Reports indicate that two of the seven coaches were impacted in the incident.
