The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has praised its Civil and New Lines teams for their swift response after a section of the Warri–Itakpe Railway Line was vandalised early Sunday morning. Even though it happened on a non-working day, staff quickly made their way to the scene.
Engineers and technical crews immediately kicked off emergency repairs, working to stabilise the damaged section so that train operations could continue safely and with minimal interruption. According to the NRC, the rapid response shows the organisation’s strong commitment to protecting the country’s rail infrastructure.
The NRC also commended the dedication of its workers, noting that they consistently deliver under tough conditions to keep the rail system dependable for passengers.
Reaffirming its zero-tolerance policy on vandalism, the Corporation called on nearby communities to remain alert and report any suspicious activity around rail lines. Managing Director Dr. Kayode Opeifa added that the hard work of NRC staff is recognised and appreciated by the nation.
