Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has reaffirmed his dedication to the well-being and development of Nigerian children, calling on all stakeholders to recommit to creating a nurturing environment where every child can thrive.
In a statement released Tuesday, to commemorate Children’s Day, the Delta North lawmaker described children as the “heartbeat of any nation,” emphasizing their critical role in shaping Nigeria’s future.
“Today, we honour the beauty, promise, and potential of every Nigerian child,” Nwoko said. He called for increased investment in education, improved teacher training, and wider access to quality learning, especially for children in rural and underserved communities.
Nwoko also highlighted the urgent need for stronger child protection laws and support systems to shield children from abuse, exploitation, and neglect. “As we celebrate, let’s renew our commitment to giving our children the tools they need—education, protection, and love, to build a better future,” he added.
Pledging continued legislative support for child-focused initiatives, Nwoko encouraged Nigerian children to keep aspiring for greatness. “You are the reason we strive for a greater Nigeria. Keep dreaming. The future is yours,” he said.
