The future is looking bright for young students in Delta North, as the screening process for the Senator Ned Nwoko Scholarship Scheme wrapped up successfully this week.
With the selection complete, the chosen candidates are now set to begin their studies at the Sports University of Nigeria, Idumuje-Ugboko with all expenses fully covered by Senator Nwoko.
Launched earlier this year, the initiative will benefit 90 students 10 from each of the nine local government areas in Delta North offering full scholarships that include tuition and accommodation.
“For many families, this is a lifeline and a long-awaited answer to their prayers,” said Eze Onwenna, a supporter of the program. “Senator Nwoko’s dedication to empowering young people is not only inspiring but truly life-changing.”
The Sports University of Nigeria, known for its state-of-the-art facilities and strong academic programs in sports and related fields, will become the academic home for these students. Beyond providing access to quality education, the scholarship program aims to foster leadership, discipline, and a culture of excellence among the next generation.
Senator Ned Nwoko, who represents Delta North in the National Assembly, has consistently emphasized the importance of education in driving societal progress. The scholarship program is one of several efforts he’s introduced to help secure a brighter future for the region.

With the screening process now complete, the initiative has reached a key milestone. Preparations are currently in motion for the students’ official enrollment, and they’re expected to kick off their academic journey in the coming weeks.
