The Goodnews Emamusi Obiodeh Foundation has warmly congratulated the Igbide community in Isoko South LGA, Delta State, on being chosen to host the 2025 UNR Isoko Unity Football Competition, set to take place on December 14.
In a strong show of support for grassroots sports and youth empowerment, the Foundation has pledged a ₦5 million prize package for the tournament. Both the male and female champions will take home ₦1 million each, while runners-up in both categories will receive ₦500,000.
To further encourage top performance, the highest goal scorers in both the male and female categories will each receive ₦200,000. In a first-of-its-kind move, the Foundation is also offering ₦100,000 for every goal scored throughout the tournament a unique incentive aimed at sparking exciting, attacking football and raising the level of competition.
Chief Emamusi Obiodeh, Chairman of the Foundation and Delta State Commissioner for Lands and Surveys, is set to attend the event in person to show his support and highlight the unifying power of sports.
“Sport is a powerful tool for bringing communities together, inspiring young people, and building a brighter future,” Obiodeh said. “Our backing of this tournament is a reflection of our deep commitment to those values.”
He added that the initiative aligns with the vision of Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, whose leadership continues to champion peace, inclusivity, and youth empowerment throughout Delta State.
The 2025 UNR Isoko Unity Cup is expected to draw widespread attention and participation. More than just a football tournament, it promises to be a celebration of athletic talent, cultural pride, and the lasting unity of the Isoko people and the greater Delta region.
