Oborevwori administration’s dedication to balanced and inclusive development — Ahon

The Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has reiteraited his administration’s commitment to ensuring balanced development across all parts of Delta State.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor Sir Festus Ahon, made the statement in Asaba, Delta State.

He pointed to the recent flag-off of the Warri–Sapele–Benin Road reconstruction as a key step toward boosting economic growth and improving transportation in the region.

“Just last week, Governor Oborevwori kicked off the reconstruction of the Warri–Sapele Road, covering the stretch between Effurun Roundabout and Mecca Bridge. This road is heavily used every day by Deltans and other Nigerians,” he said.

Ahon added that the Federal Government had also approved work on the adjoining section from the Benin end, noting that the project is a 10-kilometre dual carriageway with five kilometres on each lane.

He stressed that all infrastructure projects in the state are guided by the needs of the people and assured that every part of Delta State would benefit from the governor’s development plans.

Speaking on improving public safety and boosting security efforts, the CP restated the Delta State Government efforts with the launch of the Delta State Security Trust Fund.

Ahon explained that the fund was established in collaboration with the private sector to raise extra resources for carrying out the governor’s crime prevention and public safety plans.

He noted that the initiative aims to ensure steady and sustainable financial support for security operations throughout the state.

Speaking on transparency and accountability, the governor’s spokesperson assured Deltans that strong oversight measures have been put in place. He praised the efforts of security agencies in tackling crime across the state, noting that there has been notable progress, especially in curbing cases of kidnapping.

Ahon added that while Delta remains welcoming to all law-abiding citizens, anyone involved in criminal activities would face firm and decisive action.
