Director General of the Delta State Orientation and Communications Bureau, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has expressed confidence that Governor Oborevwori is committed to transforming Delta into the largest economy in Nigeria by the end of his administration.
He attributed the development of the state to Governor Oborevwori’s strategic and diligent implementation of his MORE Agenda, which focuses on prudent resource management, accountability, transparency, across all sectors of the state economy.
Oghenesivbe made the statement during a live broadcast of “Orientation Panorama,” a public affairs program on Voice of Delta 97.7 FM in Asaba on Wednesday.
According to Oghenesivbe, the governor’s efforts have not only reduced poverty but also fostered substantial growth in the state’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), alongside a thriving private sector.
The Director General further disclosed that Delta had seen notable advancements across various sectors. Agriculture grew by over 13 percent in the last 18 months, while the expansion of infrastructure and improvements in education and healthcare sectors have created thousands of jobs and generated significant wealth for Deltans. Oghenesivbe credited these achievements to the visionary leadership of Governor Oborevwori, describing him as an indefatigable leader focused on the welfare of the people.
“Delta is now the fourth largest economy in Nigeria, as recently affirmed by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu,” Oghenesivbe said, emphasizing that such progress is a clear reflection of effective governance. He expressed optimism that the best of Governor Oborevwori’s administration is yet to come, with plans to further improve social welfare services, human capacity development, and financial support for small and medium-scale businesses.
Concluding, Oghenesivbe asserted that the governor’s goal of making Delta the largest economy in Nigeria by the end of his tenure in 2031 is within reach.
