Oborevwori attends wedding of daughter of Hon. Samuel Mariere, former Commissioner of Delta State, in Ughelli

In a grand celebration of love and tradition, former lawmaker and immediate past Commissioner for Water Resources Development in Delta State, Hon (Chief) Samuel Mariere, bestowed his daughter, Oghenemise, in matrimony to Mr. Oghenevakpor Lucky Ekierovie of Uwherun kingdom, nestled within the precincts of Ughelli North local government area of the state.

The distinguished gathering of dignitaries was led by Governor Sheriff Oborevrwori, who graced the well-attended traditional wedding. The momentous occasion unfolded at the Camp Ambrose’s Country Home, the residence of Hon. Mariere, situated in the picturesque Evwreni town, also located within the Ughelli North local government area.

The event saw the convergence of eminent personalities, including Chairman of the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue, Solomon Ighrapata; Chief Kingsley Esiso, Chairman of the PDP Delta State; both current and former Commissioners within the state; Special Advisers; Executive Directors and Members of DESOPADEC’s Governing Board; former Members of the Delta State Assembly; Chairpersons of local government councils; and various other high-ranking government officials. Also present were Traditional Rulers, Religious and Opinion Leaders, among other esteemed guests.

Governor Oborevrwori, whose connection to the Marieres stems from his late mother-in-law’s roots in the same Urevwe quarters of Evwreni, actively participated in the bride price formalities, adhering to the cherished customs of the community. Resplendent in the traditional Urhobo attire, donned in identical fashion by the bride, groom, their parents, and select attendees, Rt. Hon. Oborevrwori engaged in heartfelt exchanges with the dignitaries present, joining in the celebration of the union between the Marieres and Ekierovies.

During the event, Governor Oborevrwori conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to the newlyweds, extending his best wishes for their enduring marital happiness. He further graced the couple with a meaningful gift as a token of his blessings.

The jubilant parents of the bride, Samuel Mariere and Mrs. Joy Mariere, expressed profound gratitude to the Almighty for this milestone in their lives. They shared their joy, emphasizing that every parent aspires to witness their children’s union in marriage. They also lauded the dignitaries who had journeyed from near and far to celebrate with them, underscoring the significance of the day.

The Mariere family offered prayers for God’s abundant grace to bless their daughter Oghenemise’s marriage.

The bride, Oghenemise Mariere, a Lawyer, and the groom, Oghenevakpor Lucky Ekierovie, an Engineer, now stand as Mr. and Mrs. Lucky Ekierovie. They expressed their profound gratitude to God for their union and fervently prayed for a prosperous and harmonious married life.
