Oborevwori Celebrates Banking Icon Jim Ovia at 74

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended warm congratulations to the Founder and Chairman of Zenith Bank Plc, Dr. Jim Ovia, CFR, on his 74th birthday, praising him as a visionary leader and pioneer in Nigeria’s banking industry.

In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor commended the Agbor-born banking icon for his outstanding contributions to the nation’s financial sector and for driving innovations that have shaped modern banking in Nigeria.

Governor Oborevwori applauded Dr. Ovia’s steadfast dedication to excellence, corporate governance, and youth empowerment through his many philanthropic initiatives, especially in education, entrepreneurship, and security.

He noted that Dr. Ovia’s remarkable life and career continue to inspire millions of Nigerians, adding that his accomplishments have proudly placed both Delta State and Nigeria on the global financial stage.

“On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I heartily congratulate our esteemed elder statesman, Dr. Jim Ovia, CFR, as he marks his 74th birthday on November 4,” Oborevwori said. “Dr. Ovia is a quintessential entrepreneur whose vision and leadership have not only revolutionized Nigeria’s banking landscape but have also empowered countless individuals and institutions.”

The Governor joined Dr. Ovia’s family, friends, and associates in celebrating the accomplished banker, praying that God blesses him with long life, good health, and continued wisdom to further contribute to national development.
