Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has sent heartfelt greetings to Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, the governor praised Muslims for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to the spiritual principles of Islam throughout the fasting period.
He described Ramadan as a time for reflection, discipline, compassion, and spiritual renewal, encouraging Muslims to carry these values into their daily lives for the benefit of society. He also stressed the need for unity, peaceful coexistence, and tolerance among people of different religions and ethnic groups.
Governor Oborevwori further urged Nigerians to use the festive period to pray for the nation’s peace, stability, and progress, noting that cooperation and mutual understanding are essential to addressing current socio-economic challenges.
While wishing Muslims a joyful and peaceful Eid celebration, he reassured the people of Delta State of his administration’s continued dedication to inclusive governance, infrastructure development, and the welfare of all citizens, in line with his M.O.R.E Agenda. He also encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly and support ongoing efforts to build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Delta State.
