Oborevwori Charges Delta-Born Police Cadets on Integrity, Professionalism

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has urged newly trained police cadets of Delta origin to uphold integrity, professionalism and strict adherence to the rule of law as they commence their careers in the Nigeria Police Force.

The governor gave the charge on Wednesday at Government House, Asaba, while receiving the cadets who recently completed their training at the Nigeria Police Academy.

Congratulating them on their successful graduation, Governor Oborevwori described the achievement as a product of discipline, resilience, patience and commitment.

He noted that choosing a career in policing was a noble but demanding decision that required unwavering dedication and high ethical standards at all times.

“You are special to this state, and we are proud of you,” the governor said, adding that the Nigeria Police Academy had consistently produced officers who had distinguished themselves within the police and other sister security agencies.

He emphasized that the conduct of the young officers should inspire confidence in the communities they would serve, stressing that their actions must always reflect justice, fairness and selfless service to humanity.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to security, Governor Oborevwori said Delta State had witnessed notable improvements in safety and security over the past two years.

He assured that the state government would continue to provide the necessary support to security agencies to further enhance peace and stability.

Describing the cadets as energetic officers with a good understanding of the local environment, the governor encouraged them to serve diligently and remain committed to the protection of lives and property across the state.

To motivate them, Governor Oborevwori announced the approval of monthly allowances for the cadets, effective from January, and wished them a rewarding and successful career in service to Delta State and the nation.

Speaking on behalf of the cadets, the President of the Police Cadets, ASP Collins Akpevweoghene, expressed gratitude to the governor for the warm reception and encouragement.

He described the governor’s engagement as a demonstration of people-oriented leadership and genuine concern for security and youth development.

ASP Akpevweoghene also commended the Oborevwori administration for the progress recorded in security, infrastructure, education, healthcare and youth empowerment, noting that these strides had strengthened public trust in governance.

He assured the governor of the cadets’ commitment to professionalism, integrity and selfless service, while offering prayers for continued wisdom, good health and strength for the governor in steering Delta State to greater heights.
