Oborevwori commits to workers welfare in Delta State

Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, affirmed his administration’s unwavering dedication to prioritizing the welfare of workers.

Speaking on Wednesday, at a one-day workshop for labour leaders organized by the Office of Labour Relations and SERVICOM in Asaba, Delta State, Governor Oborevwori emphasized the pivotal role of workers in the state’s progress.

Represented by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, Governor Oborevwori pledged to heed the voices of workers and enact policies that promote their well-being. He reiterated the government’s commitment to implementing initiatives that foster an environment conducive to excellence and growth in all sectors.

Governor Oborevwori with the efficient implementation of his administration’s MORE Agenda, outlined a comprehensive approach to development, including human capital enhancement, encapsulating the essence of meaningful development.

He emphasized the need for collective efforts to realize the agenda’s objectives, urging stakeholders to unite for the state’s advancement.

The workshop, themed ‘Enhancing The Relationship Between Government and Organized Labour For Effective Service Delivery and Advancement of the MORE Agenda,’ served as a platform to foster constructive dialogue and mutual understanding between the government and labor leaders.

Governor Oborevwori’s unequivocal pledge to prioritize worker welfare underscores his administration’s dedication to fostering inclusive growth and prosperity across Delta State. Through sustained dialogue and collaborative efforts, the government aims to create an enabling environment for workers to thrive, ensuring the realization of the M.O.R.E. Agenda’s goals.

The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, urged labour leaders to streamline bureaucratic processes to enhance service delivery.

Rt. Hon. Solomon Funkekeme, the Senior Policy Adviser to the Governor, reiterated the governor’s commitment to nurturing a positive working relationship with organized labour, emphasizing the workshop’s significance in fostering collaboration and synergy.
