Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has congratulated the Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, HRM Maj-Gen. Felix Mujakperuo (rtd), Orhue I, on his installation as the pioneer Chancellor of Nigerian Army University, Biu, Borno State.
Oborevwori, in a statement, Saturday, by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, in Asaba, also felicitated with the revered monarch on his conferment with the honorary Doctor of Law degree of the university.
The governor, in his message to the royal father, pointed out that his “astute leadership qualities and robust experience as a retired Army General and highly respected traditional ruler” earned him the appointment.
Thanking President Bola Tinubu for finding the Orodje worthy of such recognition and appointment, he urged the traditional ruler to bring his wealth of experience as a retired General and former Chancellor of Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Anambra State, to bear on his new appointment.
He said: “Your appointment is a testament to your exceptional leadership qualities and your unwavering commitment to the development of education in our country.
“As a highly respected traditional ruler and Chairman of Delta State Traditional Rulers’ Council, your appointment as Chancellor is a confirmation of the trust and confidence reposed in your ability to lead with distinction.
“This is a great honour to Deltans and a well-deserved recognition of your many years of dedicated service to the country and humanity.”
While wishing the monarch success in his new role, Oborevwori also said: “I have no doubt that your vast experience, wisdom and leadership skills will be of immense value to the university, even as you continue to make significant contributions to the growth of education in our country.”
