Oborevwori pours accolades on Solomon Ogba at 64

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the erstwhile President of Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN, Chief Solomon Ogba, as he clocks 64 on May 1.

Governor Oborevwori, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, in Asaba, lauded Ogba for his multiple outstanding accomplishments in the service of Delta and Nigeria.

He said that Ogba had made remarkable contributions to the development of sports and politics in Delta, Nigeria and in Africa since he became ingrained in sports administration nearly three decades ago.

He described Ogba as a consummate sports administrator and politician of class, adding that his tenure as the state’s Commissioner of Sports gave the sports industry in Delta a significant boost and spurred many rewarding innovations.

Governor Oborevwori, said: “Ogba’s political and sporting acumen is admirable and deserving of emulation. Delta kept winning the National Youth Games and the National Sports Festival, under his direction and watch.

“Ogba, a seasoned professional in both sports administration and politics, has developed and coached numerous elite talents and produced exceptional leaders in both fields, making Nigeria and Africa proud in various sports endeavours.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta State, I congratulate you, Chief Solomon Omamoezi Ogba, former President of AFN, on the occasion of your 64th birth anniversary.

“I express gratitude to Almighty God, on behalf of your family, the Isoko people, friends, well-wishers, partners and allies all over the world, for your extraordinary and fulfilling life.

“I pray that Almighty God grants you good health, many more years of happiness, and the ability to continue contributing to the development of our country and state, as you rightfully commemorate this anniversary”.
