Oborevwori remains committed to inclusive governance, regardless of past political affiliations – Onyeme

Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, has reaffirmed that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori remains committed to inclusive governance and will not discriminate in political appointments or patronage, regardless of past political affiliations.

Onyeme who stated this on Thursday, in Asaba during a high-level meeting of leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ndokwa Nation, emphasized that the administration’s doors remain open to all, even those who previously opposed the governor.

“We have a Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, who will not discriminate against anybody because of political interest and I am aware that before we moved from the PDP to APC, many people who worked against him were still given appointments. That tells you the kind of leader we have” Onyeme stated.

He urged APC members, particularly in Ndokwa, to be more visible in their support for Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu to secure greater political benefits and developmental dividends for their communities.

Chief Johnson Opone, speaking for the legacy APC leadership, welcomed the Deputy Governor and affirmed support for the governor’s efforts under President Tinubu’s administration.

He appealed to Governor Oborevwori to ensure that appointments and development projects touch both old and new members of the party to build synergy across the region.

Delta State Commissioner for Finance, Sir Fidelis Tilije, and other speakers at the event unanimously declared Onyeme the undisputed leader of the APC in Ndokwa Nation and pledged to strengthen party unity ahead of future elections.

Present at the gathering were members of the Delta State House of Assembly, commissioners, council chairmen, and other leaders who had crossed from the PDP to join hands with legacy APC leaders such as Chief Johnson Opone, Rt. Hon. Olisa Imegwu, and Hon. Paul Okpue.
