Oborevwori to commission landmark projects as Otefe Polytechnic holds 2nd convocation ceremony

The Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara will host its 2nd combined convocation ceremony on Saturday, with the Executive Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, who will commission different groundbreaking projects across the campus.

The projects were executed under the visionary leadership of the Rector, Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri.

The commissioning which is scheduled to commence at 9:00 am, will be followed by the main convocation ceremony at the Chief Onanefe Ibori Auditorium by 10:00 am.

This grand occasion will mark the conferment of National Diploma (ND), Higher National Diploma (HND), awards of prizes, and fellowships to deserving graduands and honorees.

In the same vein, the institution will hold a World Press Conference on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the School of General Studies Conference Room by 10:00 am.

An academic exhibition showcasing innovations and student projects will follow at the School of Engineering by 1:00 pm, highlighting the Polytechnic’s emphasis on practical and technological advancement.

A major highlight of the convocation will be the lecture to be delivered by Prof. Chux Gervase Iwu of the University of the Southern Cape Town, South Africa and it is scheduled for 11:00 am.

To further mark the historic day, an Alumni Reunion and Gala Night will take place at 4:00 pm within the school premises. This segment of the celebration will reconnect past students with the institution and showcase their achievements and contributions to society.

Since assuming office, Rector Prof. Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri has redefined the academic and infrastructural landscape of the institution and his leadership has attracted commendation from stakeholders and has significantly advanced the Polytechnic’s standing in the state and beyond.

The projects being commissioned stand as a testament to his passion and unwavering commitment to the institution and the Oghara Kingdom.
