Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to intensify grassroots mobilisation and ensure that all eligible residents, especially first-time voters, take part in the ongoing voter registration exercise organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Governor made this charge on Tuesday during an enlarged APC stakeholders’ meeting held at the Unity Hall, Government House, Asaba, which brought together leaders from ward, local government, and state levels.
Oborevwori stressed the need to capture all citizens who turned 18 after the last registration in 2022, emphasising that voter participation was key to strengthening democracy and securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
“With unity, APC remains unbeatable. We are delivering at the federal level under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and here in Delta, we are equally performing. That is why every eligible voter must be mobilised to register. No one should be left out this time,” he said.
The Governor explained that the meeting was convened to reinforce party unity, which he described as the backbone of political success. He assured party leaders of his continued collaboration with President Tinubu in advancing development for the state and the nation.
Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, reminded members of their responsibility to return to their constituencies to drive voter registration at the grassroots, while APC State Chairman, Elder Omeni Sobotie, urged members to close ranks and work for collective progress.
Speaking after the meeting, State Publicity Secretary, Mr. Valentine Onojeghuo, said the gathering strengthened solidarity and prioritised voter registration.
“Unity guarantees loyalty, and loyalty ensures victory. Once our young people are captured in this process, 2027 will be ours to win,” he declared.
