Oborevwori’s cabinet robust, Delta making steady progress – Oghenesivbe

Executive Assistant on Communications to Delta State Governor and Head of the State Orientation Bureau, Barrister Latimore Oghenesivbe has said that the Delta State Executive Council as uniquely constituted and chaired by the Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori, is exceptionally robust, a blend of super technocrats and result oriented youths learning the ropes to be great leaders of tomorrow.

Oghenesivbe made the assertion in a statement on Sunday, saying that preparing the younger generation to take over core leadership roles in governance is dear to the heart of governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The EA Communications who obviously was reacting to the statement made by the former governor of the state, Chief James Ibori, wherein he publicly criticized the composition of the state cabinet, said there are well known super technocrats in the state executive council saddled with the responsibility of mentoring the younger members of cabinet to become effective leaders of tomorrow.

He noted that during governor Oborevwori’s state wide electioneering campaigns in 2023, he specifically assured the youths that they shall be adequately represented in the scheme of things; and in major appointments, pointing out that at the federal level, Mr President’s cabinet is an intersection of the old breed and the younger generation.

Oghenesivbe further posited that governor Oborevwori will remain a youth friendly governor from now till May 29, 2031, and beyond, assuring that the governor will continue to groom and work with focused and intelligent youths in line with the core objectives of his MORE Agenda.

And on the issue of consultations and asking for help as canvassed by Chief Ibori, Oghenesivbe thanked the former governor for his willingness to joint hands with governor Oborevwori in matters of public interest, but that the former governor should not wait until he’s called upon, because he was and still a major stakeholder in the affairs of Delta State, haven served as governor from 1999 to 2007.

The EA Communications appealed to Chief Ibori, to consider abstaining from criticizing the governor publicly, adding that, as a major stakeholder in the state, the former governor has unrestricted access to the incumbent, and all cabinet members.

“It’s on record that Delta State Executive Council is a unique blend of super technocrats and brilliant youths. The older generation are already grooming the younger ones in statecraft and on effective service delivery in the state.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, as a youth friendly governor will continue to mentor and raise highly effective youths and resulted oriented leaders in the state, to takeover governance from the older and retiring folks.

“Chief James Ibori as a former governor of Delta State, should endeavour to avoid criticizing governor Oborevwori in public space, because he knows that the channel of communication with the incumbent governor is widely open, and no restricted access whatsoever.

“My appeal to our former governor is that whatever advise and necessary assistance he deem fit should be communicated through official channels rather than go public.

“Electioneering campaigns are over and it’s time for all well meaning Deltans to join hands with governor Oborevwori, to advance Delta State. He’s open to constructive criticisms which government may process to enhance the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.

“The governor is in good standing, and fulfilling his electioneering campaigns promises to the people, judging from his tremendous performances as in star projects that are ongoing across the three senatorial districts, and in all sectors of the state economy.

“It’s not time for 2027 governorship politics. Governor Oborevwori shall remain focused and tenacious in the full scale implementation of his MORE Agenda, for the benefit of all Deltans,” Oghenesivbe said.
