Okorodudu Urges Forum to Boost APC’s Presence in Ughelli South 

The Executive Director of Projects at the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun (Dr.) Ebenezer Okorodudu, has called on members of the Ughelli South United Forum (USUF) to step up their efforts in strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ughelli South Local Government Area.

Dr. Okorodudu made the appeal when the forum, led by its President-General, Olorogun Godwin Okporoko, paid him a courtesy visit in Warri, Delta State.

He emphasized the importance of returning to the principles of internal party democracy, noting that in the past, the supremacy of political parties ensured the emergence of leaders who were accountable and truly served the people.

“For us to move forward, we must return to the era when political parties were supreme. We need to identify and support credible, selfless leaders who can unite everyone,” he said.

Describing the Ughelli South United Forum as a “genuine and purposeful group,” Dr. Okorodudu praised their dedication to advancing the APC’s cause in Ughelli South. He urged them to remain the “engine room” for rebuilding and strengthening the party in the area.

He also reminisced about the time when Ughelli South played a leading role in Delta politics and encouraged local stakeholders to work together to restore that position of influence.

The DESOPADEC Executive Director also praised Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for what he called the governor’s “generous inclusion” of Ughelli South indigenes in key positions within his administration.

“The governor has shown great generosity to the people of Ughelli South,” he said. “He appointed our sons as Commissioner for Works and Commissioner for Justice—two very important roles. I was also appointed Executive Director of Projects at DESOPADEC, along with several other key appointments. That’s why we must unite and work hard to deliver victory for both Governor Oborevwori and President Bola Tinubu in 2027.”

Dr. Okorodudu also urged members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ughelli South to join the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he described as “a moving train,” so they wouldn’t be left behind in the state’s evolving political landscape.

Speaking earlier, the Organising Secretary of USUF, Michael Oshetigho, congratulated Dr. Okorodudu on his appointment, calling it a divine recognition. He explained that the group was established to strengthen political unity and secure future electoral victories for the APC.

“From our experiences in past elections, we realized the need to come together early and tackle the issues that usually affect our performance at the polls,” Oshetigho added.

Also speaking, the President-General of the Forum, Olorogun Godwin Okporoko, explained that the group’s goal is to strengthen the political influence of Ughelli South and work towards the re-election of both Governor Oborevwori and President Tinubu.

“We recognize you as one of the key political leaders from Ughelli South, which is why we decided to visit you,” he said.

The visit was rounded off with the formal adoption of Dr. Okorodudu as a Patron of the Ughelli South United Forum.
