Former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has mourned the passing of Olorogun Oskar Ibru, calling it a deeply painful and heartbreaking loss.
Oskar Ibru, a respected industrialist and Chairman of the Ibru Organisation, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 67 after a brief illness.
Describing the news as a personal loss, Senator Omo-Agege said, “At 67, he still had so much to contribute. As Chairman, Olorogun Oskar Ibru played a key role in upholding the Ibru legacy and was widely respected not only for his business leadership but also for his humanitarian efforts.”
“This is a deeply personal loss,” Senator Omo-Agege said. “Oskar was more than a brother and friend—he was the trusted confidant, the steady hand, the strategist who kept the group ahead of the curve. He was approachable, kind, and treated everyone with genuine humanity.”
“I mourn Olorogun Oskar Ibru profoundly. His passing is a painful and shocking blow. He was a truly remarkable and cherished son of the Urhobo nation,” he added, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of his soul.
