Onokpite Urges Political Office Holders to Support Governor’s M.O.R.E. Agenda

Founder of the Edafe Onokpite Foundation, Comrade Edafe Onokpite, has expressed concern over what he described as the nonchalant attitude of some political office holders towards the implementation of the Delta State Government’s M.O.R.E. Agenda.

Speaking to journalists in Ugolo Community, Okpe Local Government Area, after a community meeting, the All Progressives Congress (APC) youth leader who also serves as an Urhobo youth leader said many local government chairmen, members of the Delta State House of Assembly, and even some National Assembly members have failed to actively support Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in delivering democratic dividends to the people.

Onokpite expressed disappointment with certain council chairmen for failing to initiate meaningful grassroots development projects, despite what he described as increased allocations to local governments.

“I cannot point to any constituency project by any State or National Assembly member,” he stated. “I stand to be challenged and corrected. I call on our elected political office holders to show the world their constituency projects. Apart from the Bomadi Council Chairman, I have not seen any other who has executed a project. During their one year in office, many were more focused on posting personal photographs. Is that an achievement?”

He urged all elected political office holders to complement the efforts of Governor Oborevwori in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Delta State, stressing that governance should not be the governor’s sole responsibility.
