Onyeme Calls on Delta North APC Members to Stay United and Strong

The Deputy Governor of Delta State, Sir Monday Onyeme, FCA, has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to focus on fostering unity and strengthening grassroots mobilization to secure the party’s leadership in the state.

Speaking at an expanded meeting of Delta North elders, leaders, and stakeholders in Obiaruku, Ukwuani Local Government Area on Saturday, Sir Onyeme highlighted that unity is key to political success, drawing attention to the party’s emblem as a symbol of this principle.

“Indeed, the broom is the symbol of our party, and just as a single broomstick can be easily broken, a bundle of brooms is nearly unbreakable. This highlights the importance of staying united as Deltans under one political family, the APC.

“I also want to commend our political leader and Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for strengthening our party through the tangible delivery of democratic dividends.

“It is encouraging that most of us are already registered members of the APC. For those who haven’t registered yet, I urge you to do so. There are no barriers to progress or participation in our party, and we welcome the few Deltans who have not yet joined us to come on board so we can move forward together.”

At the meeting, the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, expressed concern over the state’s low voter registration and urged party leaders to step up efforts to encourage greater participation.

He called for unity, emphasizing that the party’s interests should take precedence over personal ambitions. “If you want to win elections, you must relate with everybody,” he said.

Engr. Omeni Sobotie, the APC State Chairman, also stressed the importance of party unity, describing politics as “a platform to make friends and build bridges, not war. God brought us together, and we will continue to cooperate as one united family.”

Similarly, Ogbueshi Adizue Eluaka, Chairman of APC Delta North Senatorial District, encouraged party members to return to their wards and actively take part in the ongoing e-registration of voters at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) offices. “We must work as one to drive the party forward,” he stated.

Other party leaders who spoke at the meeting, including Engr. Emmanuel Eboh, Dr. Ann Izei, and local government chairmen, expressed satisfaction that more people are joining the APC and highlighted the party’s growing successes in Delta North, across Delta State, and nationwide.
