Nigerian professional footballer and Al-Wehda forward, Odion Ighalo, has heaped praise on Super Eagles and Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen, amid ongoing transfer speculations.

Ighalo described Osimhen as one of the best strikers in the world during an interview with News Central.

Ighalo stated that Osimhen’s name would naturally come up among the top three strikers globally, emphasising that the young star is performing exceptionally well.

The former Watford striker also expressed concern over how Nigerians and, more broadly, Africans tend to undervalue the talent and potential of their own footballers.

He described Osimhen as a true goalscorer with remarkable mental strength, noting that the Napoli forward has faced and overcome significant challenges in his life, despite his young age.

Ighalo further highlighted that Osimhen, who is currently on holiday in Nigeria, is focused and understands what he wants, having worked hard to reach his current level.

“If he calls me for advice, I can only speak from my perspective, but whichever decision he makes will still be a win for him,” Ighalo said.

“If he decides to move to Saudi now or in two years, it won’t change anything. Last year, they approached him, and he declined. They came again this year, and he turned them down. They will definitelyreturn.”

Your Citi News earlier reported that Osimhen rejected offers from Al-Hilal on two occasions.

He has also been linked with several other clubs, including Galatasaray, where he was once loaned from Napoli
