Over 200 Labour Party, Members Defect to ADC in Ughelli North LGA

No fewer than 200 Labour Party members have decamped to the African Democratic Congress ADC, Agbarho wards 1 and 2 Ughelli North local Government area of Delta State.

‎The former labour party members popularly called obidient movement were led by a onetime Labour party chairmanship candidate Hon Omamiyovwi Akegor to become African Democratic Congress members.

‎A former Ughelli North local government chairmanship candidate of the labour party Mr Omamiyovwi Akegor led the over 200 decampees to ADC Agbarho wards 1 and 2 at a colourful ceremony in Agbarho community.

‎Akegor after receiving the ADC flag and party card informed the party leadership and his teeming supporters that come 2027 he will contest the position of the House of Assembly member representing Ughelli constituency 2 .

‎He stated that the leadership crisis in the Labour Party and Peter Obi moving to ADC was among the factors that made them to leave the LP.

‎He further stated that ADC is the party to take Nigeria to a greater height where peace and development would be restored, stressing that ADC is committed to women and youths’ empowerment and the numerous programmes that directly benefit the people at the Grassroots.

‎Mr Akegor advised all members of ADC who are yet to get their PVC’s to visit the appropriate quarters and get theirs and prepare for the forthcoming elections.

‎Also speaking another Labour party chieftain and coordinator of Obidient movement Comrade Spencer Itivie disclosed that ADC will be victorious come 2027 and called on the people of Agbarho to join the party to end insecurity.

‎Also speaking the chairmen of wards 1 and 2 Agbarho Comrades Destiny Gbenedio and Vincent Obakore while welcoming the Decampees assured them that ADC has come to stay in Nigeria and is the party that will produce the next President and other positions across the country come 2027 .

‎Earlier the secretary of ADC Ughelli North local Government area Hon. Morris Agofure also welcomed the Decampees noting that the overwhelming number is a sign of victory for ADC in the state .

‎He said ADC is not just a political party but a movement for positive change and grassroots development.

‎They further added that ADC is committed to inclusiveness, youths and women participation.
