Ovie of Udu Kingdom refutes dissolution of Udu Traditional Council

Following reports of the dissolution of the Udu Traditional Council and alleged reference of some communities in Udu Kingdom as strangers, the Ovie of Udu Kingdom, HRM E.B.O. Delekpe, Esq., has vehemently refuted these stories, asserting that there was no truth to such claims.

In a statement released by his Media Assistant, Olorogun Godstime Oghenebrorhien, HRM Delekpe, clarified that he did not dissolve the Traditional council nor relieved the Otota of Udu Kingdom, High Chief Sam Odibo of his position.

He emphasized that the rumours are baseless and unfounded, and he remains committed to upholding the traditions and values of Udu Kingdom.

“The stories circulating regarding the dissolution of the Udu Traditional Council are utterly false,” stated HRM Ohworu I. “I have the utmost respect for the Traditional council which I am the Chairman and all its members.

“Together, we have worked tirelessly to preserve and promote our cherished customs and practices, just yesterday some members of the Ovie-in-Council were in the palace to conduct screening for applicants for chieftaincy tittles”.

The monarch further clarified that at no point did he refer to any community within the Udu Kingdom as strangers. The reports suggesting otherwise are misleading and intended to sow discord among the people.

The traditional ruler expressed his commitment to fostering unity and harmony among all the communities that constitute Udu Kingdom.

“I categorically deny ever using the term ‘strangers’ to describe any part of my kingdom,” affirmed the Udu Monarch. “Udu Kingdom is a tapestry of unified communities, and each one is an integral part of our collective identity. I have always championed inclusivity, and I will continue to do so.”

The statement advised those using the social media to put discord between the monarch and his people to stop, saying disunity will not bring peace and development to Udu Kingdom.
